Middie Youth Basketball has competitive teams for boys in grades 3-6. These teams will play in the very competitive Cincinnati Area Youth Basketball League (www.caybl.org.) The CAYBL program provides an opportunity for Middie teams to play teams in the same age group from around the area. The CAYBL teams will practice 2-3 times a week and play between 10 - 20 regular season games plus a season ending tournament.
There will be one team per grade that plays in CAYBL for the 2010-11 school year. Practices will start in October, with the first CAYBL games to be played in early December. The season will run until early March. The CAYBL tournament will end in March. There will also be a special Youth Basketball Day at Wade E Miller Gym in January where teams will get to play on the Middie Varsity home court.
This is a highly competitive program. There is no guaranteed playing time for any player and coaches will select their own teams.
The goal of this program is to teach youth basketball in the Middie Way and to compete at a high level. Players are required to remain in good standing in school and the community as well as on the court. All players this year will be required to show report cards to coaching staff in order to play.
The program includes:
CAYBL Members: Amelia, Batavia, Cincinnati Country Day, Deer Park, Fairfield, Glen Este, Goshen, Hamilton, Indian Hill, Kings, Lakota, Loveland, Madeira, Mariemont, Mason, Middletown, Milford, New Richmond, and Sycamore.
